These drop spindles are 100% brand new. not re-manufactured old cores. CNC machined to exact tolerances these forged spindles features 1/4 inch outward offset. These spindles are the first step to a brake system upgrade while giving you the built-in ability to lower your car an automatic 2-1/2 inches just by bolting them on. Link-pin spindles utilize stock sized tie-rod holes while the ball-joint spindles require 69-on style tie-rod ends. Both spindles use original steering geometry so the ride and handling of the car is not negatively .
Designed to be use the later style 4x130mm bolt pattern Ghia brake rotors, which we now offer in a variety of patterns.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT TIE-ROD END SIZES: 66-67 Beetles & Ghia used a tie-rod ends with a smaller sized tapered shaft- 68 & on Cars used a larger diameter tapered shaft. All replacement complete beam assemblies and aftermarket spindles sold by Vintage V Dubs. come with spindles which are designed to be used with the late model tie-rod ends with the large tapered shaft. If you have an original 66-67 Beetle or Ghia- you will need to replace the outer tie-rod ends with the late models style. You will need to check your current tie-rod end for the thread rotation necessary because it is possible to have tie-rods installed in either position leaving it impossible to know which thread type your car has in the outside position. Outer left hand thread use VWC-311-415-812-C. Outer right hand thread use VWC-311-415-811-C.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT WHEEL BEARINGS: If installing into 66-67 Beetle or Ghia- please order wheel bearings for a 1968 and later model. The original 66-67 bearing will not fit. See part numbers VWC-311-405-625-DGR (INNER) & VWC-311-405-645-GR (OUTER)
